Well, what can i say, The Alverbank in Gosport, is such a hidden gem! As a Wedding Venue, The Alverbank delivers on ALL levels and the following story is why...
Paula and Kevin tied the Knot at The Alverbank in march 2024. This was my first time as a wedding photographer at this venue. Its a beautiful Grade II Listed building with stunning views over the Solent. As a wedding photographer my mind was buzzing and I was most excited about the balcony view which i knew would come into play for the "official" photos later in the day. The staff on hand were absolutely lovely and offered me a coffee straight away (erm, helllo, did we just become best friends?!)
Paula's sea view suite in which she and her bridesmaids got ready, was absolutely gorgeous and so spacious! Perfect for all the bridal prep details without anyone getting in the way of each other. The lighting on that day was also to die for! The hotels staircase provides that perfect action shot of a bride making her journey to marry the love of her life!
With it being a March wedding, the wedding ceremony took place inside The Hall. Kevin's mum was on hand to put the button holes on the boys whilst taking advantage of the toasty fire. Guests waited in anticipation of Paula and her Bridal party.
After an emotional ceremony, drinks and canapes entertained the guests whilst we took various group photo formations as well as the natural shots that my couple would miss seeing during the day.
The Hall was decorated beautifully, the fairy lights are a great addition to give any wedding reception a romantic and dreamy feel. The Chivari chairs really complete the couples choice of rustic log center pieces and yellow ribbons.
For the couples portraits we braved the golden hour March sunshine to grab a moment or two alone over looking the views of the Solent with the sound of the guests chattering around us. Paula and Kevin were such great fun to work with, super relaxed and so in love! makes my job easy!
Keen to party, the dance floor was already jumping when our Bride and Groom took their spots for their first dance, followed by a Father Daughter dance and Mother Son dance which left me feeling all emotional!
I cannot wait to return to The Alverbank for a wedding in the near future, i think the garden space is just amazing for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Fab to mingle in and enjoy the views of the sea as well as celebrating with the couple in garden party style. Its everything you need and more under one roof for a twilight cosy winter wedding too.
I wish Kevin and Paula a long and happy marriage together, i know it will be full of love and laughter just like your special day was.
K xx
